About Us

Suspended Brewing Company is a very small brewery in Baltimore, Maryland. We are a vegan and cruelty free company with a mission to show that kindness and environmental stewardship can be a viable combination for business.

Our company’s name comes from a 100+ year old Italian pay-it-forward tradition called caffe sospeso, which translates from Italian as '“suspended coffee”.

We believe you can have really awesome (and tasty) things without compromising good values. There are businesses everywhere responsibly making anything we could want. We just have to look for them. No one ever said you can’t have your socially responsible beer and drink it, too!

We are a diverse team with great respect for each other. We are independent. We are minority and woman owned.

We focus on mixed culture fermentation but also love to make hoppy beers, crispy lagers, dark beers with lots of roast flavor, and farmhouse ales. We use seasonal and local fruits every chance we get. Most of what we make tends to be low in ABV and we love to re-create historical beers and use historical techniques.
